Last night when I looked at that photo I felt that theres a man who does not want anyone there because he has done something he is trying to hide, he doesn't want to be discovered.
I really can't describe it any better than that...if that makes sense.
I've circled the two face I can see (small circles) and the hooded figure (big circle) if that helps anyone
Haha, maybe he doesn't want people there because of the state the Castle is in. Hugh was the 1st Earl of Eglinton, and when he lived there, it would have looked INCREDIBLY different to the ruins it's in now. I am actually an ancestor of Hugh Montgomery, and the Montgomery Clan. Seeing these photos, my eyes can't help but be drawn to certain areas of the images, in one of the pictures, of the tower with the figure standing in the top window, I also see a figure standing down in the door way as well. Some areas it looks like just a blur but somehow my mind instantly and instinctively tells me someone is there, though they weren't clear enough to see very well at all. Nice photos. I so wish I could have been there to see that all unfolding. Who knows, perhaps Hugh would have focused on me and not Amanda (I had heard stories from my Grandmother that some of the Montgomery Clan were pretty strict, harsh people). | |

| Hi, it's been a long while since we have been on the forum due to other commitments. I remember this investigation well and it was very strange. Amanda got a lot of information which did tie up with some of the history. Yes she did say about the Montgomery clan being harsh and strict but also discovered a little girl from the Campbell/Cameron or Cunningham clan one of them two. She had her life ended at the river beside the castle. She felt there was a fight/battle between the Montgomery's and the Campbell's/Cameron's or maybe it was Cunninghams...... Aparently she is from the family not the Montgomery family, a man from the Montgomery clan ended her life there. What you make of that, anything info about this?

| The name Cunningham, rings a bell, and the feeling I get about that is that she might have been around the same time the 4th Earl was killed. My grandma told me that the Cunninghams made a plot to kill the Eglintons, on more than one occassion burning the castle down. When they killed the 4th Earl, the Montgomery Clan called for every last member of the Cunningham clan to be killed, which is exactly what happened. The Eglintons killed every Cunningham they came across. So it wouldn't at all surprise me if she WAS from the Cunningham Clan. In every version of the story y grandma told me, there was a little girl who signalled for the beginning of the attack on the 4th Earl. Perhaps that is the little girl you found there?
